TEKNION PREVIEWS EUROPEAN-DESIGNED ie
FURNITURE SYSTEM AT NEOCON 2004
Full line of tables, mobile and beam-mounted
storage units, screens and accessories an
alternative to North American panel systems
Teknion Corporation recently announced the first
showing of its popular new ie furniture system
in the United States during NeoCon in Chicago
from June 12-14. ie is an alternative to more
traditional North American systems furniture,
yet incorporates many of the benefits inherent
in office panel systems.
“ie provides an architectural framework with
virtually endless planning possibilities,” said
David Feldberg, President and CEO. “It has its
own unique aesthetic, with light, clean lines
that don’t tend to overpower the space. ie is a
logical extension of Teknion’s integrated
product portfolio rather than a radical
departure − a creative new outlook on solving
changing workplace requirements around the
world.”
A minimum number of multi-use components combine
to create simple, freestanding desks to highly
functional workstations − and everything in
between. Shared, non-handed worksurface supports
streamline workstation reconfiguration and
inventory management.
ie can be configured and reconfigured to create
fixed and mobile workstations arranged around
the central post, used as freestanding
workstations, or arranged in combinations that
best meet working requirements. The central post
offers both conventional 90-degree and
120-degree planning possibilities, and in
15-degree increments for virtually unlimited
layout variations. Modular 20-inch posts allow
workstations to be built up to the required
height or lowered as needed.
The European design heritage and innovative use
of screen materials give ie its distinct
aesthetic. A selection of screens in a variety
of heights and materials, textures and finishes
can be used to create a light and open workplace
ambience, and to create various levels of
privacy. Various textures and looks are possible
within the space division components, including
such new materials as translucent polycarbonate
and a mesh membrane screen. All standard Teknion
fabrics and finishes as well as wood are
available on ie.
