The following is an easy checklist you can use to help to identify problem areas in your work environment. No answers indicate a potential problem and should be investigated further.

  1. Worksurface is non-reflective to reduce glare.
  2. There is sufficient leg room to change position of legs without getting up.
  3. Worksurface is large enough to hold work materials.
  4. Commonly used items are close at hand to avoid excessive stretching.
  5. Loose wires and cables are well managed by the use of grommets or wire management channels so as not to interfere with operator safety.
  6. Computer monitor viewing area is between 20° to 50° below eye level, even lower if user wears bifocals or trifocals
  7. Top of monitor is slightly farther from the eyes than the bottom of the monitor
  8. Keyboard tilt follows the natural line of your forearm and hand
  9. Images on the screen are sharp, easy to read and do not flicker.
